I thought it’d be useful to start discussing where I’m placing my stock orders and why. Right now I’m trading at Tradefreedom which is a discount online Canadian broker.

I choose Tradefreedom because it has

No Monthly or Quarterly minimums

No account or inactivity fees

Low $1000 balance to fund an account

$9.95 per trade fees

Since I’ve started trading or buying stocks through Tradefreedom my orders seem to be placed quickly and accurately. NO problems there! Plus I’ve had good customer service throughout the whole account setup and funding.

I’ve also tried playing with the “Quotes & research” area of the site. Although, it has some good qualities overall I’ve found better sites to use for research. However, this isn’t my goal for using Tradefreedom so I don’t mind.

If you have any doubts about their creditbilitiy have no worries. Tradefreedom was recently purchased by Scotiabank. As we know Scotiabank is a large corporation so no worries with trading. Anyway, if you’re looking for a place to trade I found Tradefreedom to be very helpful, efficient and good overall. However, that being said I’m in the process of investigating other discount online brokers for lower trade fees.
