About

This blog was started, inspired and based upon the book written by Phil Town, Rule #1: The Simple Strategy for Successful Investing in Only 15 Minutes a Week!.

I ordered the book because I’ve always been interested in learning how to invest. A picture of the book came up on the front page of Amazon. I clicked on it just to see what it was all about and spent the $15 to get the book. Upon reading the book I was instantly inspired with my new found knowledge. I do realize that the book was written in an “inspirational speaker” manner. However, upon reading the book twice I think that this is my chance to try and learn about the stock market and buying good companies. The whole premise of the book is that you can simply take $1,000 and turn it into 1 million dollars trading in this manner. I realize that this is a pipe dream (or might be possible in the long LONG run) but I’m starting trading with only the money I can lose.

— Update Feb 1st, 2011 —
I recently read Payback Time by Phil Town and was equally inspired. In fact, after reviewing my Mutual fund performance over the past 4-5 years I’m even more inspired to give this a shot. I’m going to be trying to apply Payback Time principles to my investing and blog as I don’t have the time it requires to daily monitor stocks to get in and out and would like to simply buy a great company at a discounted price.

The goal of this blog is to document my progress using the Rule #1 and Payback Time approach. I’m planning to discuss everything from my train of thought, my watch list and my current purchases for good or bad. I appreciate any comments or criticism that you have on my trades.

Looks like you haven’t updated the website for awhile.

I just finished the book and would like to get started on investing.

It would be very helpful if you could share some of your recent experience/ activities on the stock market.
